The language is an arbitrary social system to allow the exchange (communicate) one’s idea with others. If I do not know a specific social rule, I could not understand the structure of language as well as the meaning of one’s speaking. Typiano is an interactive sound-typing installation that generates notes according to the participants’ acting of pushing the keys in the typewriter. Each key has specific note, which is equivalent of the note of piano. Also as each key response to the duration of pressed time, the participant creates his/her own melody while controlling speed of the note.
